  1. You're not that bloke with the funny hair who shouts are you?
  2. If you have a post office local to your post code that provides the service, it will be listed on the back of the renewal form. Mine is Redruth and they have put a booth at the end of the counter at the last position, which has a camera and a signature pad. Walk in, draw the curtain. The clerk checks your paper work, takes your photo, you sign the digital pad, hand over your old licence (make sure you retain a photocopy). I got mine back two working days later.
  3. I work for the NHS at a hospital and I have to make up work time for hospital appointments.
  4. First of all, get your sister to report her card lost. This should prevent FLM from just helping themselves. As to what next contractually, I don't know.
  5. You're probably feeding it wrong - it want's mice and bird flavour food ;-!
  6. The passport has to have been issued in the last 5 years. I got mine at the same time as my driving licence.
  7. I've got mine to do this week. The post office offer a service for £4.50 where they take the photograph and send it electronically to the DVLA.
  8. Also report them to the ASA. They can deal with websites as well as normal advertising routes.
  9. Perhaps it's Mr E**** but they've printed M R E****?
  10. As long as the registration number is correct, that's all they need. Officers may also take details from the tax disk as a means of corroborating the vehicle identity.
  11. You do not need a TV Licence for using catchup TV services, only for watching shows that are being broadcast at that time.
  12. The penalty for being driving an overweight vehicle is dependent on how overweight the vehicle is and a %age figure is used for this. 0 to 9.99% over is a fpn of £60.00. 10%-14.99% is £120 15%+ is £200. 30%+ and it's off to court. but, vosa inspectors allow a 5% tolerance. This info comes directly from VOSA. I used to work for network rail and had to stop a supervisor driving a flat bed transit out of the depot which was so obviously overloaded. We had access to vehicle scales as well as having access to a private weigh bridge so there wasn't any excuse.
  13. This often pops up on the police reality shows where someone moans about the cameras "camering" them. The normal reply from the police is that they are filming in a public place.
  14. Getting home yesterday and finding a gravestone with Ebeneezer Scrooge written on it propped up against the garage door. Must add that this was a prop used for a childrens play last weekend - but it was still a shock!
  15. Larking/Pranking about can be seen as misconduct and, as been mentioned, if serious enough, can lead to disciplinary chain. Suspension is a neutral act and is used to investigate the issue.
  16. As PT Barnum once said, "There's a sucker born every minute" or words to that effect.
  17. Oh Dear Probe after passenger throws fare-dodger off train An investigation has been launched after a fare-dodger was hauled off a train by a passenger who stepped in to help the conductor. The incident on the Edinburgh to Perth train was filmed and has received more than 300,000 hits on YouTube. The footage, taken by a passenger on Friday, shows a youth refusing to pay for his ticket or get off the train. A big man then gets up, grabs the youth and appears to throw him onto the platform at Linlithgow, West Lothian. The man then twice stops the teenager getting back on the train before returning to his seat to a round of applause from passengers. Refusing to pay A ScotRail spokeswoman, said: "While we welcome the public's support of our zero-tolerance stance on anti-social behaviour, our staff are trained in conflict management and we do not expect members of the public to take matters into their own hands. "We are investigating the incident, which appears to show a person travelling without a valid ticket, refusing to pay for the journey, and swearing at a staff member in full view of customers." A British Transport Police spokesman, said: "We are aware of the YouTube video and our inquiries are ongoing. "British Transport Police did not receive a complaint from anyone on the train at the time the incident is believed to have taken place."
