  1. Not just unlit cyclists, what about the pedestrian wearing dark clothes walking along an unlit road. Can scare the bejeezus out of you.
  2. It's very rare that an employer will allow a solicitor to acompany you. You are normally allowed to bring a union rep or a fellow colleague. They are normally for providing moral support and to help ensure fairness. From what you say in your post, this is an investigatory meeting, and, depending on it's outcome, could determine whether no action is taken, or the disciplinary process is started. Suspension from work is a neutral act and not a predetermined sign of any sanction against you. You should still be getting paid.
  3. My wife stopped working in September, but the year up to then, she was paying into Aviva's Pension 98 product. She want's to know whether she can cash in her pension to get the money back that was paid in. She's not very good on the phone and was going to write, but if I can get a simple answer here, through the Aviva rep, it would be much appreciated. Boris
  4. An insurance company is well in its rights to refuse insurance to your friend.
  5. Bloody toothache and I can't get a dental appointment until tomorrow!
  6. Being an ESR admin, what you have described here is two assignments. You have an employee number. If you only have one assignment, a primary one, then the assignment number is the same as the employee number. Subsequent assignments have a -# suffix, e.g. -1, -2, etc. An assignment has a category; Permanent, Fixed Term Temp, Bank, Honourary etc. Do you know what category your redundant post is in?
  7. And the biggest thing with Universal Credit is RTI - Real Time Information. Everytime you get paid, your paye information is automatically sent to HMRC for your Universal Credit claim instead of quarterly/bi-annually. So those people who understate their pay may be caught out.
  8. :madgrin:Why not reply to their "who was driving" demand as Boris Smirtzoff from Moscow. You've answered their question and it's down to them to prove it wasn't.
  9. Does anyone get a telephone message from Mike. Would that make it M@MMF.con Sounds like a right mouthful.
  10. BACS payments are normally credited to the account by 4.00 am on the day it's due. BACS payments, IIRC, are submitted 2 working days before payment is due - unless you bank with NATWEST!!!!
  11. I work for the NHS and have to work any hours I take off for appointments.
  12. It was paid today, though it hit her account late morning rather that early morning.
  13. Do she have to ask for it, or is it done automatically?
  14. My wife has been for some time now and she received a letter from her employer saying that she will no longer be paid whilst off sick. I've read somewhere that she may be entitled to SSP. She has worked for the employer for 18+months. Can someone explain, simply, how SSP works and how to get it?
  15. As Marie Antoinette said, "Let them Eat Cake". I'm sure that all of this posturing is good for business - and google searches - remember that veg supplier who tried the same thing here? Badboy, if you want your money back, issue proceedings. Sugarswirlz, if you want to sue for defamation, then issue proceedings.
  16. AFAIK, the MOT doesn't look at the clutch or gearbox, although if the gear stick came off whilst changing gear, this would be a bit a problem.
