Multiple claims against the same bank????

Hi i am in the forces and we were all told when we joined that we should join Barclays as it makes things easier. I have banked with them for 5 years up until recently when i changed everything to halifax which i must say have been brilliant. I have a barclays current account, barclaycard and a barclay loan. The interest on the barclaycrd and loan were so much that i just seemed to be paying off interest and nothing else. I slowly but surely managed to dig myself a hole that i couldnt get out of.

 

I visited barclays on a bout 4 occasions to try reduce the interest rate so i could pay the money back that i borrowed. I explained that i was getting into a situation that soon i would not be able to handle. So to cut a long story short i asked them for help and the reply i got each time was:-

 

'NO i'm terribly sorry but we cant help.'

 

So i decided to go to spectrum debt solutions because they had annoyed me so much and to be honest i had no other choice.

 

Since i opened the account in 2001 i have had a lot of charges with all 3. Some of which have been when i was deployed on operations and unable to make the payment. Even when this was explained i was basically told that it was my own fault.

 

I have been reading through this website and cant find anyone that has made multiple claims against the same bank so dont even know if i can. I have sent letters reffering to all three accounts to find out exactly how many charges i have had and am waiting a reply.

 

If anybody has any suggestions on how to go about all this I would appreciate your help and i gather load of other people are in the same situation..

You could make multiple claims or a single claim. It depends what the circs are to decide which is the best to do for you.

Yes because each account would potentially be a separate contract.

 

Therefore, you could make an individual claim against each contract.

Yes - I have made claims against

 

1. Barclays regarding my Current Account -waiting reply

 

2. Barclaycard regarding my Credit Card -fee and interest refunded plus goodwill £10
