Hi, everyone, I've just recieved a reply back from Clydesdale after sending off my letter asking for my charges back. This is the reply I recieved:

"Dear Mrs shaky

I have thouroughly investigated the issuses you have raised and am sorry you are dissatisfied with your account.

I confirm your account opened in 2001 and was for a purchase price of £330. Should you have wished to take this Interest Free the full value should have been recieved by 1st January 2004. The alternative to this was to repay monthly, which would then include the payment protection insurance and interest, as confirmed in your Agreement.

You have chosen to repay monthly, which was for a value of £14 to be recieved by the 1st of each month over a period of 36 months. Please find enclosed a Statement of Account, which confirms the payments we have recieved. As you will from this you have not complied with the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement you entered into and therefore as included within these Terms you incurred charges. As this Agreement informs you that charges will be made in these circumstances we have not acted unlawfully.

I note from your letter that you quote the Office of Fair Trading's recent review of value of the administration charges, and advise you that these are currently only recommendations that have been made, and are not yet Law. The Banking and Credit Card Industry have until the 31st May 2006 to respond to this and should after this our Company change the value of charges, we will of course keep you informed."

It then goes on to say if i am unhappy with the response then please contact their customer relations dept and that if i remain dissatisfied i may ultimately be able to take my complaint to the independent Finance and Leasing Association.

Anyone else had this reply back?? I notice it is worded differently than a previous posters letter, but am assuming that everything is still okay to proceed with my second letter??

I would appreciate any input anbody has to offer......am off to print out my 2nd letter now!
