JCI/CARS chasing unknown debt by txt msg

Hi Caggers

 

I keep getting text messages from C.A.R.S, saying they are acting on behalf of JC International Acquisition, asking me to pay a debt  I have non knowledge of?  They are asking me to log into a link to read letters?  Because I have no knowledge of this debt, I have not logged into this. 

 

Is anyone able to offer me advice on this please?

If you really have no knowledge of the debt, then I reckon it's a scam.

 

Simply block the number.

report the txt as spam to 7726

Do I open the link to see what they are claiming?   Just worried 

 

I've reported the messages to 7726.  I've never had anything from these people in writing & worried how they have got my mobile number ??

This will seem a daft question but - how long have you lived at your present address?

Ignore them until they send you a computer generated threatogramme.

 

Check your credit file too.

I asked because we often get people who move, then court papers turn up at the old address, they know nowt about them, and they lose by default.

 

If there is no "old address" involved then nothing to worry about.

 

Block the number and get on with your life.

 

If there is a real debt they will eventually write to you.

I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.  There is no number, just says the name CARS?

There is no opt to be able to block this on mobile at all !!
