Do I open the link to see what they are claiming? Just worried -
Am I safe to ignore this ? What I do find amusing is the para. 6, saying their client has incurred further costs due to the breach in non-payment of the charges for parking, in trying to recover the charges on the notice of £80 / £100. How can there be a breach & how has it cost their client more ( no figure specified ) ?

Hi Caggers I keep getting text messages from C.A.R.S, saying they are acting on behalf of JC International Acquisition, asking me to pay a debt I have non knowledge of? They are asking me to log into a link to read letters? Because I have no knowledge of this debt, I have not logged into this. Is anyone able to offer me advice on this please?

Thank you for coming back to me on this lookinforinfo. What, if anything, should I do to prepare for any potential court action? Hmm !! Regarding the 'Notice' below the windscreen. I have tried my very best to enlarge the picture they have sent in the hope of being able to get it to a point of being able to read. However, this is not legible on the document they have sent & no enlargement is making it readable. So sorry. Should I ask them to send a legible picture of the 'Notice'?

The seething & bruising is still running deep on this one. However, after very careful consideration my mate has decided not to lodge the N164. What my mate does not understand is why a judge would think it acceptable to charge such extorniate amounts for parking, as it didn't cause anyone any harm. As he says " Bloody lot of money for a simple mistake !!!" He is now worrying about what to do about making the payment, because of the solicitor fees that were added on at the end of the Set Aside hearing. His question is "How likely are these bleep, bleep, scammers to enforce & should he pay?"

Hi dx100 I've had a good read of the thread about the 6 months. The Past Due Credit letters were stating the tax was for August 2022, which is within the 6 month rule, even though the car was scrapped in May 2022 & the payment for tax was stopped when this was done. I think the issue is they are stating they never received the bloomin yellow slip that was sent? What I am also confused about is Past Due Credit letters were asking for £80, but DVLA are asking for £180?

Hi Caggers, I've received a letter from DVLA about 20/01/22 saying I owe this money. My wife called them. She advised the obstinate advisor that she had the slip off. The advisor just kept repeating they had not received the yellow slip to notify of the car being scrapped, so I still owe them for the tax? In the meantime, I've been back to the company I scrapped it with. Luckily, they were able to give me the V5 number & I set about recording the scrappage online. Now I have received a Legal Notice - Statutory Notice demanding payment of £180.67. They say i only have 7 days to pay from the date on the back of the letter which is 02/02/23, but I didn't receive it until 04/02/23? Do I just pay this?
