Hello all,

I sold an item on Ebay in late November 2022. It was "lost" in transit, and all they could do was send me £20 compensation plus the postage fee that I paid.

I have read quite a few threads on here so far and I can see others have suffered the same experience. It's unbelievable that they would want us to take out insurance against the negligence and criminality of some of their staff. I did not purchase their cover and this is the reason they have refused me the full £160 value for the item.

Can somebody please link me to a thread which details how I can start the process please? (if there is such a thread). I would like to know where to begin and which forms I need to fill out.

Thank you in advance, and apologies if I have missed anything. Feel free to ask me.

simply use our enhanced google searchbox (not the one in the red banner )

there are almost 100 evri claimform threads here already.

how did you inform evri of the full value of your item before sending it?

Hey, I cannot remember what I put down as the value before sending it. Is this a problem?

I have sent them the screenshot of the item sale value on Ebay and web link to the sold item (with the item number) is still accessible.

What if I didn't put the value down?

Sorry.

Looking through the threads you linked, I need first register on the MoneyClaim website and start the procedure.

I'm still struggling to find an answer on the parcel value.

I cannot for the life of me remember what I told Evri when I sent the parcel.

When I look at my invoice or original order sheet the value is not on there.

Reading through the FAQ on here it says that Evri will only pay the value stated on the original order form, so is there a way to discover this in the claims process via communication through them?

your 1st port of call is to WRITE and complain to evri if you have not done so.

then issue a letter of claim.

then on day 15 from the letter of claim issue your court claim via MCOL.

thats the process.

i expect the info you need will come out during the 1st 2 stages.

I have, but let's have it right, this forum is an absolute mess in terms of layout and order. Not to mention the over-imposing banners and adverts that cover my screen, which are vying for my attention alongside the unnecessary left-side boxes that distract from the centre of the page. You need a serious re-design, it might help retain users.

I don't understand why you can't answer a simple question, especially you dx100uk, the attitude of your reply is as bad as the Evri customer service. Didn't anyone ever teach you to "NOT" capitalise the emphasis in your text?

Hello, one more question sorry, does issuing the letter of claim cost any money? Or do the costs start with starting the court claim?

No and yes although costs will only be your initial fee of issuing the claim and hearing fee if the claim proceeds to a hearing. Incidental costs are limited in Small Claims Track claims.
