I had an agreed payment plan with M&S which i can no longer afford due to urgent surgery

i am now on SSP.

I have looked for an email address or a address I can inform them of a new payment of what i can afford.

i know this will be passed onto a debt agency

i do not wish to speak to M&S,

any advice would be appreciated

thanks

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

always best thing to do

you're not ever obliged to speak about debt over the phone/text/email etc etc

simply state if you need too

writing ONLY put the phonedown whoever they are

I received a letter from HSBC to say they have passed my debt over to credit security. Dont know why since I have been paying monthly.

Received letter off credit security also today saying they will be calling.

I do not wish to speak to these guys. I have sent them an email saying I will continue the £5 per month if they would advise on how I do this.

Hsbc have said I didn't keep up the plan. Which I did the same as the other creditors I pay.

Now will these guys apply pressure on me.

Not wanting to discuss over the phone which will give me great anxiety.

also I want a paper trail.

Any advice I would be grateful. Tia

Hope this is in the correct place

  • dx100uk changed the title to HSBC Debt - Creditsecurity taken over?

threads merged.

follow the advice already given here earlier on your other debts where a dca has gotten involved.

if you have not received a notice of assignment that the debt has been sold. ignore the dca totally, carry on as you are.

I recieved a letter from HSBC stating that credit security will be acting for them now. I won't be speaking with credit security. I have asked for them that I will converse with them by email. And asked for the same payment plan £5 per month as I did with HSBC. I'm worried incase they do not agree.

From the way you have cropped the letter it's still unclear if the debt has been assigned (sold) to CS or whether they are just adminitrating (collection) the paperwork as per the wording. So, if there is no heading on the letter " Notice of Assignment" then nothing has changed really, they have simply passed the debt to a third party DCA to chase you to increase your payments and apply further pressure on you.

If the debt has not been sold, HSBC are still the owners of the debt and it's your choice if you wish to converse with CS / pay them or whether to ignore them and continue to make payments to HSBC.

Therefore, it's up to you no one can force you to deal with a DCA. HSBC can either continue to accept your payment or not.

Hope that clarifies their letter.

Andy
