Need to change address with DVLA - USELESS - Phone, chat and website not working!

I have been trying for 2 weeks now!

Online, on their website it just won't let me change address! 

Live chat is just a stupid bot chat! 

Calling them just keeps saying sorry we are all busy right now and hangs up! 

 

Oh let me guess, covid is to blame?! 

 

I need to change address asap! I was even flashed by the robbing council that is Manchester city council on a 40 doing 43!

And i don't know where these or any letters be going...

Anyone else having this issue?

if you get a speeding fine it will goto the address currently on the V5C.

if you've spent 2 weeks you could have done it by post by now easily...

There is no option to change address..... nothing like "would you like to change your address".... 

 

What willl happen now then? How long does it take to receive a letter, what if i don't get a letter?

How did you know this, and the precise speed, as you are not getting these letters?

 

Also, I was not aware a City Council can issue Speeding Tickets - but maybe that's my lack of knowledge and it is not just the police who can do that.

I know because the camera flashed when i went past it on the motorway... at 4am... I assume it was me.  Could have been on the other side but flash looked strong.

 

Guess I will have to do by post.... it's £17 to change.. is it free online??

What the hell is going on with online, it's impossible to change address!?

i've just gone through to actually typing in my (same) address and hit return

it told me thats the old one so working here to me .

It's free online, it works, I used it last week, and two days later my DL with the new address on it arrived in the post, even did the wife's at the same time.

It says this!! 

"We cannot access your record at the moment, please try again in 24 hours when you should be able to apply."

 

Absolutely useless! Every bloody day i have tried and nothing!

What is going on here!?

To date have you mailed in anything to dvla to get this moving?. No good sitting around waving your arms for +2weeks. 

 

there is obviously something existing already that is wrong with the v5c registration they hold.

 

when was the last successful interaction you had prior to this issue? Is the 11/16 digit code on the v5c correct? Can you access your details at all on the site?

It's my driving license I need to change address with.. not the v5c? I assume that would be automatic?

nope, the address on your driving licence is immaterial to you getting flashed by a speed camera, how does a speed camera know who was driving.. the NIP will goto the address registered on the cars V5C.

 

though yes of course both individually must be updated by you to dvla, neither automatically updates the other, when did you move?
