I have been scammed a sizeable amount via PayPal in which the seller told me to send as friends and family to numerous accounts. I am new the the PayPal service and I had no general idea about these services, could Barclays help me reverse these transactions in this case?

how do you pay your PP balance?

have you a debit card registered on paypal?

that then requests the sums from your bank

ok good

there is a things called Continuous Payment Authority (CPA)

that how these payments are made to PP via your bank.

identify the dates and amounts of the payments

ring Barclays up and tell them you have been scammed via PP

don't go into too much detail, it's not required.

and you wish the following CPA's refunded AND the CPA Now cancelled.

you also need to instruct them to NOT authorise any further payments to PP by WHATEVER method unless you give your express permission in WRITING to do so.

RECORD THE CALL.

now expand a bit upon this scam please

was it an ebay item or what please?

The items I attempted to buy were mainly virtual goods.

There were multiple payments made to multiple accounts and it on totally resulted in me losing £500.

What I’m worried about is the fact that the payments are made by friends and family,

PayPal says they cannot help so does that mean Barclays dispute won’t work?

Also if it does get charged back where does the money come from?

PayPal can’t usually backtrack friends and family payments.

I have contact Barclays on the banking app and they said they’re sending me a letter which I have to return within 10 working days. What do I write in this letter?

nothing to do with chargeback.

if you get your moneyback so what if it leaves a PP negative balance

they cant enforce anything ....they are in Luxy.
