Hi guys,

I've received a parking charge notice from Athena in the post for overstaying the 1h30 limit by 25 minutes on 27/08.

I spent too long trying to save money in the shop 😑

Issued 02/09, Woolston/Southampton

This charge is £45 and it goes up to £90 if I don't pay by it by Wednesday

Is there any way out of this since they do have clear photos of the car, and signs in the car park?

I've attached photos of the letter

Thank you

William

Tell them that due to Covid restrictions and extra time needed to shop and check out  the Athena imposed time limit is ludicrous as well.

We could do with some help from you.

The bailiff: A 12th Century solution re-branded as Enforcement Agents for the 21st Century to seize and sell debtors goods as before Oh so Dickensian!

Thank you both for your help, I appreciate it 🙂

I have written to Lidl explaining the situation and asked them to get Athena to remove the charge.

Do you think I'm likely to have any sucsess? The charge goes up to £90 after tommorow, and affording the basics is already hard enough at the moment

Thank you, having read quite a few threads I gleaned that the CEO wad forest in my list. So wrote an email last Wednesday, so far nothing back 🤔 here’s hoping I hear something soon as would rather not have to get into this with Athena 🤦‍♀️

I've gotten a reply from Lidl and they've just suggested going through Athena's appeals process (response attached). For the record, I haven't paid the charge as they say in the email, I will keep writing back.

If parking eye is anything to go by, appealing won't get me anywhere, but I'm considering going through an appeal so it helps me get my case across?

Thank you for pointing me there. I will write to the CEO tonight

PPCs never, ever, ever accept appeals - ever.  Don't go down that route.

Another motorist has just won by writing to the CEO

I'm afraid it is entirely true.  Just have a look at any thread where a motorist was naive enough to appeal.  I can't remember even one being accepted by a PPC.

Lidl employ Athena.  They therefore have the power to instruct Athena to cancel the invoice.  Which I hope they do in your case!
