How do I regain access to my computer?

My son fell for the age -old [problem] of BT ringing to say issue with the computer and they remotely took over our computer and have locked us out of it.

 

They asked for money and he told them he was only 13 and had none.

I was out at the time, otherwise I wouldnt have allowed him to do this.

 

The home PC has all of our family photos on and his older sisters coursework on.

I need to get it unlocked.

 

How can I do this?

Ive looked up the [problematic] number on this site  

but it seems other people knew it was a [problem], so there is no advise on how to unlock it.

 

Im not that great with computers, can anyone help please?

If I take it to PC world would they be able to do it maybe?

Are your images simply kept on the computer – or do they happen to be kept also on the cloud using something such as One Drive?

I suppose that your computer only has a single disk drive on it.

I doubt very much that PC World will be able to do it – if it is at all possible – and am afraid that one of the first things they may do is to wipe your disc. That way you will lose everything.

 

Also, please could you tell us the message that you get when you start up the computer. I'm wondering whether they have simply lock the computer or whether they have scrambled all the data

 

Did you take the photographs with a telephone? And if so is it possible that your photos on the computer are simply there because they synchronise with those on your phone? Have you checked to see if the photos are still on your phone?

That damned  permit remote access flag should always be disabled especially in Windoze,
