Hi

I would say yes to the Data Protection breach and should be reported.

Confidentiality is neither here nor there as the DP breach covers it.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

What I would really like to know if whether there are grounds for any compensation for this, because the email contained the details of an investigation meeting. It didn't have any details about the matter but the time and place. And it also touched upon the seriousnbess of the matter.

If the recipient has told the sender they have done this then that sender should self report to their Data Controller. Ask the question The recipient should have also deleted said email and not spoken to anyone about is as well. That needs to be asked about as well but not necessarily now
