Hi

I have just received a change to my credit file alert and when I checked it is a CCJ added by County Court business centre. I do not know who has issued it it just says the amount.

It was served at an address I moved from 18 months ago. Can I get this set aside and find out who has issued this?

thanks

Contact Northampton county court bulk centre on Monday for the CCJ details and come back for advice.

If you failed to notify change of address to interested parties, that is not a reason for set aside. You need a valid defence. The only way you will know whether this is possible is to obtain the CCJ information and then follow advice given, when you cone back here.

We could do with some help from you.

You can certainly apply for a set-aside, but first of all you should find out more about it.

Contact the County Court and asked them about it and asked them to send you copies of any papers they have. They can do this by email.

Come back here when you get more information.

Hi

I spoke to Northampton today and they could not discuss this with me and asked me to email (which I have done). She did say however, there is no address or contact details for the claimant? The plot thickens..... My credit file has nothing on there that matches the amount of the judgement?

I will update as soon as I hear from them.

if you know the CCJ number

and the address it was taken out against

goto www.trustonline.org.uk

it'll cost £4 but you should get some more details.

like claimant, who against and amount etc.

Hi

You need to know who added this CCJ to your Credit File check these if you haven't already done so as they are free:

Noodle: https://www.noddle.co.uk/

ClearScore: https://www.clearscore.com/

Also where you checked your Credit File write to them asking for confirmation as to who added this to your Credit File.

Hi

I have now found out who this is from.

It is a firm of solicitors.

They were acting in my divorce but made a catalogue of errors and I had to go see another solicitor to rectify this.

I wrote to the solicitors outlining my complaint and they responded saying they are not prepared to do anything about it.

Is there anywhere I can go with this.

It is from 2013.

so they purposefully send everything to an old address?

did they know your correct one?

so you can prove they knowingly filed to a wrong address?

that would give you a set aside reason

but you'd need a defence for the 'debt' itself.

do you have a valid defence to the debt to go with the possible set aside reason of service to an old address

I lodged a complaint against the solicitors and they admitted that an error had been made but nothing serious. This however is not the case and I therefore sent it to the Legal Ombudsman. I have contacted them again today so am awaiting their response

if you did not engage the solicitor - then they and the others will not do anything, only if you engaged the said solicitor yourself not claimants! solicitor, been tru all the regulators and no good for you the defendant!
