The personal allowance is £11000.00 per annum so that divided by 52 would give you the average amount each week not taking into account any weekly ups and downs, other sources of income, overtime, bonuses or any other factors and allowances. You should therefore use the average of £11000 / 52 of £211.53 As a GUIDE ONLY

Employers are given your tax code if you have one and then deduct tax based upon the annual income so it is spread out over the year and you dont get clobbered by it in just the last half of the year. You will also pay NI and that is calculated differently. If you dont have a tax code you will be taxed as if you have no allowances so pay tax on all of your income and then have to claim it back at the end of the year unless HMRC spot it and issue you with a proper coding notice ( they seem to be a bit slower doing this than they used to, perhaps they need the money more than we do)
