Hello

Im new to this forum and wondered if anyone could help me, my husband has applied for carers allowance and I sent in all our business paperwork to be sent back a form to fill in listing certian ingoings and outgoings, part of our expenses my husband claims for are made up of Capital Allowanaces and I am trying to find out if they disregard the Capital Allowances when calculating your weekly take home money, they said they dont use HMRCs profit and loss figures to get the calculations from.

capital is not income but they create a notional income from your capital which is something like 12%

Almost all deductions from normal business accounts like travel costs are disallowed for this purpose.

Thank you I got through to Carers advice this afternoon and its been made clearer, we can include loan payments in expenses which I didnt realise
