Hi all,

Am renting part of a car park from the Council, they are about to renew the Lease and increase it by 110%, can they do this?

I would really appreciate some help on this one.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Mariner51

Thank you for the quick reply, it is a bit more complicated than a parking space, more like a plot which is rented, as in ground rent for container used for business.

depends what the rent was to begin with. If it was a commercial amount then you can appeal the increase to the LVA but I suspect that it will be in the same class as allotments and other "amenities". You should then look at whether it is worth considering renting a space on a farm nearby if applicable.

Local authorites have been his with considerable reductions they receive from central government. It will be either putting up the rents or increasing the community charge of losing a public service.

It is central government where you need to be directing your anger
