Hi All

I arrived back from a work trip last night to a council tax summons, with the hearing date marked as 23d September, but having received it on September 27th I am now worried.

I originally fell behind due to being out of work.

But I have already have a payment plan set up starting October 1st, so I am confused as to why this has happened.

Could anybody advise on how to proceed?

(The council is Lewisham).

Many thanks

its just another way of squeezing £10? out of you for the cost of the LO

just be mindful

if you break the arrangement

they pass it too a bailiff

they will oly send one letter giving you 7 days to sort it

then it will cost you £75

if that happens they'll be at your door and that will be another £235 .

so don't mess it up.

pers i'd check with the council [that iS who you made that arrangement with?]

that they are happy and just watch you back..

might be better to look at you overall finances....?

as things like mobile phone bills/credit/loan/catalogue or ANY other NON priority bills

need to be dropped to a lower amount to ENSURE you keep to the schedule else it COULD cost you +£300 in bailiff fees

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Double check with the council but what many council's are doing now is agreeing a payment arrangement subject to the liability order being granted as part of the arrangement - that means they can enforce straight away if the arrangement fails.
