Sugar tax: soft drinks makers including Coca-Cola consider suing the Government

Soft drinks makers including Coca Cola are reportedly considering suing the Government over George Osborne's plans to implement a tax on sugary drinks, which could never see the light of day.

Analysis by the Office for Budget Responsibility has shown that the tax will cost £1 billion to implement, almost double the £520 million amount it is expected to raise, which Osborne has said will be set aside to fund sport in schools.

 

If they have the £1 billiion to implement the tax which wont be fully refunded - why not simply set aside the £520 million to school sports ?

Fruit is to be banned and replaced by fizzy drinks on health grounds due to the totally unacceptable amount of sugar Mother Nature puts in them in order to tempt people into eating more of her produce to reverse falling sales.
