Hi, so this company Collect+ lost my parcel and refused to compensate even a penny because I did not have a receipt to prove it's value. I'm not a business trader and I sadly can't find the shop receipt despite searching. I have proof of posting and they admitted they lost it but refuse to pay. It was thankfully a small amount but the fact they didn't even refund the postage upsets me.

What are my options for resolving this issue? Thanks

They have to have some kind of complaints procedure and investigation. Otherwise they could just steal peoples packages and say "sorry, prove it".

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

Is this the company you are referring to ?

If you scroll to the bottom of their "Help" page - click on require further help you will pull up an online communication form.

Alternatively, make a written complaint to their head/registered office.

Did you pay in cash for the item ? If by credit / debit card - you might be able to track the purchase on a statement.

Hi

Do you have proof in writing that they have admitted losing the parcel?

If so this can be resolved fairly simply.

Formal Complaint..In writing..

If they reject

Letter Before Action

If they reject or ignore you

Issue court papers. The cost? £25 when done via MCOL.

Once companies such as this realise that people know their rights, they will start coughing up.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

They should be at least refunding the cost of the postage since you paid for a service you didn't receive. Did you sell the item? The proof of someone paying for it should be enough to show its value.

I'd be tempted to find a receipt for another item you bought which matches the description and claiming on that.
