I think this is due to the "one size fits all" system that is in place :(

Some of the food banks are getting very full and longer queues are forming each week. It looks so bad when you see the queues the staff are beginning to struggle. Sometimes the shelves get very low.

In my area of the world we have about a dozen of these places and they are always looking for more things to fill their shelves...

That report is in direct contrast to the testimonials DWP obtained from people who have received sanctions, Jeff said it helped motivate............wait !!!!

So after much research it has been concluded that taking away vulnerable peoples safety net as punishment has a negative impact, well no sh*t sherlock.

Everyone knows these sanctions are cruel and barbaric YET they continue.

Is it not time we realised that at some point in our so called progressive society that we should actually think about paying people a decent income to do nothing rather than expecting everyone to be in work, Finland a country with one of the worlds highest standards of education is already considering voting to do such a thing.

The cruel twist is that unemployment is an essential element of how our system works, without unemployment the system would grind to a halt, unemployed people add tremendous value to our economy and yet they are treated as part of a problem when the reality is they are part of the solution.

Wait for it, with the LA cutting back on care packages due to the cut backs the LA's are considering upping CTAX to help pay for it. Now everyone pays CT but those getting the care will/may have to pay the higher rates of CT...

Newcastle is contemplating a 1.95% increase... See here >> https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/sites/drupalncc.newcastle.gov.uk/files/wwwfileroot/your-council-and-democracy/34._council_tax_0.pdf

An interesting report, although I do have to resist the temptation to say "well, duh!" Who would ever have thought that forcing people to scrabble around for basic sustenance would make it more difficult for them to look for work?

PLEASE HELP US TO KEEP THIS SITE RUNNING. EVERY POUND DONATED WILL HELP US TO KEEP HELPING OTHERS
