McAfee subscription

When I launch Mcafee security suite, I receive a message saying pc is at risk and the

spyware/anti-virus is turned off, however the firewall and the web protection are still on.

In order to "fix" the problem, I am taken to a page to renew my subscription even though

my subscription doesn't run out until 27/10/15.

Any advice woud be much appreciated

Remove McAfee. It is honestly one of the worst. They have this software bundled with new laptops and computers, give you a year free and then pester you to pay for it.

 

I have loads of free licences for BitDefender, which is much much better if you want one. Each licence allows up to 3 PC's for a year. Although I personally use eSET at work, and I don't use anything at home.

I have spoken with a representative who said I need to uninstall and re-install software to resolve issue, however he said in order to do this

I need to revert back to the default browser when I bought it, that seems a lot of messing about, last time I did that I ran into problems
