Hi All,

I am going in for the PPI fight, I will track my progress and hopefully successful outcomes here.

I have had loads of loans and Credit Cards over the years, in fact so many that I can't remember them all, I have written a list and will try put them in some order for SARs and then hopefully get some advice from you guys as to which to go after 1st. I am doubtful how many will come up as being mis sold though as I recall saying no to protection insurance on most occasions, but you never know.

My List:

Mortgages

Natwest

Norwich & Peterborough

UCB

Intelligent Finance

Loans

Barclays

Natwest (2 or 3)

Prudential (EGG x2)

Secured Loan - GE Money

Credit Cards

Natwest

Barclaycard

EGG

HFC Banking - Marbles

Store Card

GE Capital (Debenhams)

Time Retail Finance (Dixons/Curries)

probably some more I forgot in the fog of time. Most of these will have been mid 1990s onwards so early ones may not be relevant.

Questions:

  1. Are any categories listed above unlikely to be persuable?
  2. Which is the easiest company to deal with?
  3. Which would you recommend going for first?
  4. Would you SAR all and wait for the information first?
  5. If I don't know Account Numbers etc will I just send name/address to parent company address?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

NCB

What do I do if I don't have the account details to hand?

If you've moved since taking out the loans ect give them the address of where you were at the time you took them out.

You'll get all the help you need when you return.

Thanks maroondevo52, I am getting a little confused with 2x GE addresses, Ge Capital & GE Money look similar but seem to have lots of different companies listed and several different adresses.

I am using - Data Protection Public Register - ico.org.uk/esdwebpages/search - to look for the correct address and it is very helpful for the most part

GE MONEY gets the following result:

Total Records found 10

GE MONEY CONSUMER LENDING LTD

GE MONEY FINANCIAL SERVICES LTD

GE MONEY HOME FINANCE LTD

GE MONEY HOME LENDING LIMITED

GE MONEY LENDING SOLUTIONS LTD

GE MONEY MORTGAGES LIMITED

GE MONEY SECURED LOANS LIMITED

GE MONEY SERVICING LIMITED

SANTANDER CARDS UK LIMITED

Santander Consumer (UK) PLC

It was a secured loan, so I have gone for GE MONEY SECURED LOANS LIMITED

GE Capital comes up with the following,

Total Records found 24

GE CAPITAL BANK LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (CUMBERNAULD GP) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (ESTATES) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (FUNDING) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (INVESTMENT PROPERTIES) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (LEASING) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (PROPERTIES) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (PROPERTY COMPANY INVESTMENTS) LTD

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (PROPERTY MANAGEMENT) LTD

GE CAPITAL CORPORATION (TRADING LP) LIMITED

GE CAPITAL EMEA SERVICES LIMITED

GE CAPITAL EQUIPMENT FINANCE HOLDINGS

GE CAPITAL EQUIPMENT FINANCE LTD

GE CAPITAL EUROPE LIMITED

GE CAPITAL FUNDING SERVICES LIMITED

GE CAPITAL GROUP SERVICES LIMITED

GE CAPITAL INVOICE FINANCE LIMITED

GE CAPITAL LIMITED

GE CAPITAL REAL ESTATE UK FINANCE HOLDINGS LIMITED

GE CAPITAL SOLUTIONS LIMITED

GE Ccapital Solutions Europe Ltd

GE COMMERCIAL FINANCE FLEET SERVICES LTD

SANTANDER CARDS UK LIMITED

Santander Consumer (UK) PLC

I have gone for GE CAPITAL BANK LIMITED for this as it seems more likely.

Hi dx,

If you check my initial list there are several different ones, HSBC, UCB, GE, etc

So what do I look for once everything arrives? Statement with PPI taken, is it as simple as seeing it listed in the T & Cs or something a little more subtle?

You just need to establish if PPI was added the accounts. This will either show as a separate entry on the statements or if you are fortunate enough to receive copies of the loan agreements, it will show as a front loaded figure and identified on the agreement as such.

From the statements, you would need to complete one of our spread sheets - then download the complaint from the FOS website.

5 SARs in the post, should cover a minimum of 7 accounts and likely up to 9 :)

Lets see what comes back.
