Is there nothing to indicate what the charge is.

I've looked at my online statement and the charge was on the 20/02/2015. It just says 30JAN then my account number. the charge was for £9.86.

Can I not just send a letter? I don't like talking to them on the phone at the best of times.

Thanks

Andrew

Can't see why not, just take a wee bit longer.

Can't find a £9.86 charge in here........

Based on the information posted in this thread, since June 2014 you were paying £10 per month for a Select Silver account. The charge was debiting your account on or around the 22nd of each month (depending on whether the 22nd was a working day or not). The description of the charge displayed either a date from end of the previous month or the start of the current month.

I believe you have since asked for your account to be downgraded from the Select Silver account to one with no such monthly charge. So the £9.86 charge is probably a pro-rata £10 charge for the Select Silver account up until it was downgraded.

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi all,

Got a letter from NatWest saying it was a charge for a package account!

How many times do they need telling I don't want it.

Really annoyed with them now,

was thinking of putting in a package account claim and to claim all I've payed back because it's mis-sold, I've never used anything they gave me with the account.

I'll upload the letter and would like some advice on were to go from here.

Thanks

Andrew

Hi everyone

Not heard much about my account from NatWest until I got a letter from Morrcroft on the 20/05/2016.

They say my account has been passed on from NatWest and I owe £467.86!

All I can think of that could of made it that much is that they kept charging me for being a 10er overdrawn. But that's only because they didn't downgrade me even after I asked multiple times.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks xd

I'm looking through the reasons for mis-selling and I'm not sure what reason applies to my situation. Also should I not send Morrcroft something to let them know the account is disputed?

Thanks

Andrew

How would this be for the complaint letter?

6th June 2016

Account Name: SELECT SILVER ACCOUNT

Account No: 00000000

Dear Sir/Madam

I have had the above account since June 2014 but believe it was mis-sold to me. I tried to downgrade my account multiple times but was ignored by your staff and ended up incurring additional overdraft charges due to the failure of your staff downgrading the account.

I enclose copies of my statements dating back to when the first account fee was taken out. I am writing to request a full refund of the fees I have paid plus any interest owed to me.

I look forward to your response within eight weeks, otherwise I won’t hesitate taking my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Yours faithfully

Andrew
