The late fee's are penalty fee's and unenforceable.

 

You owe the original loan amount and original contracted interest. You made it a bit tougher as you rolled the loan over a few times, but its doubtful you owe what they say. You'd need a fully itemised statement to determine that.

Please make sure you keep a couple of copies of that letter, they have sent you that statement in writing haven't they?

 

Keep them safe, in the likely event that they have flogged it onto a powerless 3rd party DCA, you will then have proof that you owe zero.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!
