Hi,

I have just been alerted by Equifax that Motormile finance have added a credit account to my file.

I have never heard of them until now,

on reviewing comments on this forum I am now worried.

Spookily someone at my old employer as just advised me that an automated phone call

from them has been received at least twice a day from this company.

I have checked their website to try and contact them however it is closed for maintenance.

I have disputed with equifax and they are going to contact MMF on my behalf

but seemed unconcerned so I have emailed them for more info.

CAnt seem to locate a phone number anywhere

I have worked hard to repair my credit history, what should I do next?

whats the original debt all about?

was it on your credit file and has dropped

and now MMF have purchased the debt?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

MMF is a debt purchaser well know here for their threatening ways and outrageous claims regarding what they can do.

Much involved with pay day loans.

Do not be persuaded to speak to this company on the phone, do not answer their " security " questions just tell them all contact must be in writing, contacting your work place is a definite breach of FCA guidance.

The original debt has never shown on my credit file, the entry for MMF just shows as addition of account number. I have spoken to MMF earlier after tracking down a number and they have confirmed it relates to a debt in 2011 but I am sure I have paid through another collection agency.

Thanks for info, I have already spoken to them before I saw your post. I have now requested that all correspondance be in writing - they have e-mailed to confirm the account is on hold for 2 weeks whilst dispute is investigated.

oh dear

please be very careful of blindly paying DCA's ANYTHING on ANY DEBT you have.

they are NOT BAILIFFS

and have

NO SUCH LEGAL POWERS.

me thinks you were cash cowed before on this

that money went straight to the DCA's pocket.

then they just sell your details on...

here this one coughs quite nicely , we spoofed her out of £XXX

she did even ask for proof

and it was all done on the phone....

wise up!

Thanks, its easy to panic and think "quickly pay it" as I have worked so hard to repay all my debts and improve my credit file. You are correct, I will ensure that I have all the correct info before I make any payments.

Is there a default date shown on your credit file?

Who was the original creditor?

If there has been no previous entry on CRA files something is wrong here.

Which CRA have you checked?

If it was not one of the Main Stream agencies Equifax/Experian/Call Credit it may not show on the "2nd hand" data sites.

original creditor was poundstillpayday, no previous entries and first was is equifax, they have just shown account number, it came up on one of those alerts. no other details registered although girl i spoke didn't fill me with confidence, they are looking into it for me.

Is this definitely your account.

So no default date shown on the CRA file?

Once again I think we are seeing "co-operation" (collusion) between creditor and debt purchaser

arranging to default accounts one day and selling to debt purchaser the next so the OCs entry does not get displayed.

For now just wait and see what MMF try next.

Please get back here if anything comes up.
