am not defending his actions. but, in terms of poss injury its not as bad as eg deliberate elbows to the face/head, or poss career threatening leg breakers. both of which some players do/did quite often without lengthy bans. but, its the 'unusual' act, like spitting in the oppos face, thats seen as offensive, and unacceptable.

IMO

:-)

Yes Suarez, was wrong....yes he deserves a ban and needs help.

But Chiellini is no angel, he's done far worse himself in the past and I don't remember anyone calling for him to banned for life. Didn't he injure van persie in a dirty tackle that put him out for six weeks? I know he swiped someone down from behind before and broke their leg as well. I am sure it was him. The point is Chiellini won't miss any games because of it, so surely it needs context? Not that I am condoning biting, but Giorgio thinks hair pulling and punching is okay?

What's with all this biting, sounds a bit kinky to me. Seriously though, how much is this about the fact that this nasty horrible person dare to knock England out of the cup, sour grapes ?

NOt sour grapes at all, CD. These guys are paid vast sums of money and set themselves up as role models. They need to grow up.

Are you trying to replicate bite marks, take a proper look, they are very distinct and pretty deep.

As CB says, he should be setting an example, this is the third time.

It would definitely be classed as assault, also that has the potential to transmit all kinds of diseases.

In the UK, this would be assault wouldn't it ? Suarez should be arrested surely..

Seriously, that's pathetic, though wonder he keeps doing it. He's been banned from all football for 4 months.

Breaking news

Suarez banned for NINE matches

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has been suspended from all football-related activity for four months for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini.

The Liverpool player, 27, has also been banned for nine international matches, ruling him out of the rest of the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

That means it has no effect on him. He can now go lay on the beach and it will all be over before our season starts and he can take another lump of flesh from some poor sod.

That's shocking, four months is nothing, an employee in the real world would be sacked.
