Hello All....

About a year ago I took out a payday loan with Capital Finance Once.

The original loan amount was £120, and I topped up a further £75 in the same month as my circumstances at the time dictated it. Now, when it came to the end of the month I payed the roll over amount (interest) of £76.05 and a further £50 (which I have stone cold proof of, and has been acknowledged by them as having been received) to bring the balance of capital borrowed from £195 to £145.

Before my following paydate I phoned them up to check the amount I would be paying them and was subsequently told it would be the original £195 + £76.05. How is this so? I payed an extra £50 at the end of last month to bring the balance down. After them not acknowledging that at the time, I took control and reported my debit card as compromised and got a replacement, so they couldn't take any money off me.

Now, a year later they have finally acknowledged that I paid £50 on that date, yet are now insisting that because my account is in Default I owe them £450+. But they say they are doing me a favour by offering me to pay the original amount of £195 + £76.05 and when I challenge them about the other £50 they become vague and avoid and have now stopped talking to me, just sending me messages saying that I can take their CFO Resolve product and take out a new loan. Obviously, I will not be taking out a new loan with them, but have grown completely exasperated by this whole saga. I've even offered to pay them £221.05 which is the original amount minus the £50 I paid but again they have gone silent. Any advice out there? My credit rating is being seriously affected by this after all the hard work I've done over the last two years to try and repair it.

Cheers

Hi. Sorry you were missed.

As a newbie you will be forgiven for ringing them.

No more phone calls. Only deal in writing.

Put them on the spot. You want a full breakdown of the 'debt' and tell them what you will pay. If they happen to threaten court, agree to it. It is highly unlikely they will go that far.

Regarding the credit rating. Nothing you can do I'm afraid. So long as the marking is truthful then it will stay.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor
