I have a vodaphone contract and I'm finding that its not fit for purpose. The signal is know to be bad in my area, plus its very bad in many other areas I travel to.

I cannot trust that this phone will work. I've had many calls with vodaphone to establish if its a setting or the sim card etc, none of these solution have worked.

At what point (if any) can a contract be considered null and void due to network problems?

Thanks

Hi John333,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

Although I can see that some checks have been done previously I would initially recommend following the steps in our troubleshooting guide here.

If you'd like to discuss things further could you email me with your details via the Contact us form here and quote the code WRT135 - CAG Forum in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. To make sure it reaches me could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

Kind regards,

Lee

Hi John333,

Thanks for coming back to me.

Having checked our emails I've been unable to locate yours.

Could you let me know your email reference number from our automated reply and I'll take another look?

Sure signal is your friend, if you been with them long enough they will send you one free of charge if you ask nicely. :)

For clarification, our policy is not to supply Sure Signals on a free of charge basis.

Kind regards,

Lee

Hi John333,

Ideally, it's preferable for you to post this information on your eForum to enable our Network Specialists to investigate things further.

However, I'll ask them to check the post code you've posted and get back to you.

Kind regards,

Lee

Hi John333,

Having checked the site serving SG17 5RS I can confirm that we couldn't see any faults.

To enable us to look into things further could you email us with your details via the Contact us form I linked you to on 20 September? To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - CAG Forum in the subject line?

Thanks,

Hi John333,

Without further investigation I'm afraid we're unable establish why you're having difficulties with the network.

In regard to cancelling early, you'd be required to pay the line rental charges covering the remaining part of your minimum commitment less VAT and a further 2% discount.

Kind regards,

  • 1 month later...

http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/nov/07/vodafone-fails-minimum-3g-mobile-internet-coverage

I ended my Vodafone contract about a month ago because of coverage and since then its emerged that Vodafone have not complied with their legal obligation on 3G coverage.

I now have a bill for more than £200, plus all of the wasted time I spend trying to get a phone working, when all along it was bad coverage. Further, the article states that coverage actually got worse when 4g was rolled out.

If Vodafone had complied with their legal obligation it would more than like be the case that I would no have had to end my contract, as I live and travel in very populated areas, just outside London.

With this in mind how does this ruling effect my refusal to pay the contract termination fee?

Thanks
