I have rare illness / disease that is not easily diagnosed nor accepted as existing by the majority of GPs in the uk ( although it is recognised / has a charity etc ), is there any way then it is possible to find out the number of patients a doctor has - or is currently treating for a specific illness or disease ?

( I like in pretty small town so this is why Im asking )

thanks,

mike

I doubt it. What you might find easier is to find out (probably from the charity) is whether there is a doctor in your area that specialises in care of people with your condition.

Yup, I'm already waiting to hear from them as I speak.

I think Feebee's doubt and recommendation are likely to prove correct on both counts.

As an 'outside chance', however, you could put in a Freedom of Information request to a GPs practice (in writing, giving name and address for a responsewithin 20 working days) and see what happens. Couldn't do any harm, and you never know…
