Wasn't the criminal offence abolished in Victorian times? Late 1860s I believe?

Went around a Prison decades ago on a visit (organised), and one area had notice on cell door = debtor and the amount to be paid to be released?

I love visiting old prisons. If you're ever in Oxford go and have a look around the Malmaison Hotel - they've done an incredible job converting the old Oxford prison. Staying in a cell is pretty cool. Well you actually stay in three!

Interesting, we were also shown the old hanging room entrance (which was blocked up).

You need another aspect to the diagram - cancer paranoia.

Yes, that would intersect with both fact ignorance and 'daily mail reader' :-)
