Hi!

I just had an appointment in Nationwide to open a current account and they would not accept my Biometric Residence Permit as proof of identity.

How is this possible???

I am non EU national and don't have my passport.

I have been granted a leave to remain for 2.5 years.

They want to see my passport with visa.

I found out they their requirements for opening new accounts is outdated and they asked me for identity documents that do not exist any more.

Is there a way to fight them because it is ridiculous?

Should I contact FSA maybe?

Does anyone know what to do?

Get a letter from passport office or immigration. Id love to see them refuse that

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Yes, me too. But don't think immigration would even consider replying to my letter and deal with individual case like mine.

I was thinking if maybe complain to the FSA which is the financial regulator for bank, building societies...

Yes co-op was my alternative but the fact itself is killing me. I promised myself that I will get to the bottom of this.
