Reliable have now closed the account and passed it on to a debt collection agency. Everyone we contact is ignoring our letters... :mad2:

We wrote to JD Williams as per previous posts (the £1 for the life of the debt ones)

I sent Reliable a copy of the JD Williams letter as they were getting more and more aggressive

and all of them have ignored us.

JD Williams got the PPI etc claims..

. they seem to ignore everything and just rant that we owe them money..

. and now Reliable say they have closed the account and passed it on to a collection agency..

. talking to anyone in the JD Williams family is like Shirley Valentine having her conversation with the wall!

Do we continue making the £1 payments or wait on the next collection agency?

"Thank you for your letter.

We are unable to remove any charges from your account at this present time.

Our records show that in an effort to help you during your current financial difficulties, the account was set on a payment arrangement of £30 every 28 days in July 2013.

Unfortunately you have failed to keep to the repayment schedule and therefore you have broken the terms and conditions of the agreement.

We are now aware we have been receiving £1.00 payments on your account, however in order to consider reduced payments please forward us a copy of your financial statement along with your financial situation.

Please contact us on 0845 xxx xxxx to discuss this matter further.

I look forward to hearing from you soon."

After I had finished laughing at the inappropriate placing of capital letters

(which I didn't waste my time reproducing here),

had puzzled over just how to package up "your financial situation" without it escaping in the post,

and then laughing again at their request to call (they tried calling about this the other day but we let the answerphone take care of it and then deleted their message)..

. I decided to share their missive here and see what you guys think.

As they seem to have selective amnesia I don't see the point in writing to them again..

. and they don't intend to refund anything..

. shall I just ignore them or send them copies of the

"you failed to help me so here's £1 for evermore' letters?

Can you link me to something about the fees - I have been looking for something to help me with my complaint as they have refused my claim but I don't seem to be looking in the right places or else I can't see the wood for the trees...

Thanks for your help

Latest missive as typed:

FINAL NOTICE

As we have been unable to reach a positive outcome and the payment arrangement on your Ambrose Wilson has been cancelled we are now preparing to escalate this matter to a debt collection company. They will contact you shortly.

Please remember the consequences of not dealing with this matter will include; a default on your credit file which will affect your ability to obtain credit, your details being passed to a debt collection company who may call at your home and the end of your relationship with us a customer, all of which we want to avoid.

Please be aware that administration charges continue to be added to your account for each missed payment.

We will shortly be sending you a Default Notice which will contain detailed information on what will happen next and give advice on legal representation you may require.

We must stress the importance of you taking action in this matter. If you can make payments by instalments or there are personal circumstances you have not made us aware of, you need to call us. With your commitment we may be able to negotiate a new re-payment plan or reach an alternative solution.

If you act urgently, it may not be too late for us to help.

Hi;

We made an agreement (thanks to the template letters you kindly shared with us on this thread) to pay £30 a month,

they refused to stop adding charges

so we now pay £1 a month.

We tried to reclaim the £12 charges (as per a post in this thread) and they refused.

We are still paying the £1 and now they have issued the default and are asking for over £200 in arrears by the 23/04 to prevent further action

Sorry but can anyone help with what, if anything we should do next...

Thanks

Sorry to be repetitive by Mum is really winding herself up about this as it is her account. Nothing I say is reassuring her. Please can someone tell me what action, if any, I should be taking next.

Thank you

JDW have now sold the debt to Lowells (we got that letter and the letter from Lowells saying they'd bought it in the same envelope). Can we just keep paying the £1 to JDW as we have no intention of calling Lowells (they just tried to call - taken care of that!) 😈
