Hi All, A few weeks ago I received a call from a magazine publisher offering me a trail subscription of 3 issues for £1, payable by Direct Debit

I have taken these out before and never had any probs so I agreed.

On 4th Oct, the letter of confirmation arrived outlining the payment. The letter was dated 28 Sept, and it stated the date of the first collection 21 Sept. This date is 13 days after the day I received the letter!

I enquired at my branch of Halifax who told me the Direct Debit was set up on 2nd Oct.

The magazine publisher requested the amount on 9th Oct, and as there where insufficient funds in my account I have incurred a failed item charge of £39, to be taken from my account 17 Oct.

There wont be any funds in my account until 18 Oct, so I will incurr a further £20 unauthorised overdraft charge.

Is the magazine publisher responsible for these charges, as the dates just dont tally!

Thanx in advance folks.
