  1. Yeh! I just opened an account with COOP this morning. no OD cuz of my credit rating! hey ho!!
  2. Iam sorry this was of no help to you! They really have got people over a barrel-and before Christmas when customers will rely on they're OD!! Iam not happy Ive had to do this-tried asking if they would freeze the OD so I could make regular repayments from my JSA-NO JOY!! Those fees could be contributions towards settleing the debt. Anyone have any advise on the hardship/JSA/low income front??
  3. Hiya-I am currently in receipt of JSA, and Iam maxxed out on my OD from when I was working. The only breathing space HBOS would give me was to upgrade to Ultimate Reward-costing me £12.50 pm (as opposed to £1 pd).I will retain the OD-but fee free(providing I stay within limit) The upgrade is done with the click of a mouse, with no checks or changes to your account number, PIN etc. Not happy that Iam still gonna get stung once a month-gonna do my best to clear the OD, then ditch them. Just opened a real basic account with the Coop in preparation
  4. My problem, is not so much the bank charging me(not for the time being anyway), but the publisher have made an error under the Direct Debit Guarantee, so should they not riemburse me?
  5. Hi All, A few weeks ago I received a call from a magazine publisher offering me a trail subscription of 3 issues for £1, payable by Direct Debit I have taken these out before and never had any probs so I agreed. On 4th Oct, the letter of confirmation arrived outlining the payment. The letter was dated 28 Sept, and it stated the date of the first collection 21 Sept. This date is 13 days after the day I received the letter! I enquired at my branch of Halifax who told me the Direct Debit was set up on 2nd Oct. The magazine publisher requested the amount on 9th Oct, and as there where insufficient funds in my account I have incurred a failed item charge of £39, to be taken from my account 17 Oct. There wont be any funds in my account until 18 Oct, so I will incurr a further £20 unauthorised overdraft charge. Is the magazine publisher responsible for these charges, as the dates just dont tally! Thanx in advance folks.
