i know its not a huge rise but wifes on a low wage and isnt happy

shes just had a letter to say her contracts going up by 50p a month

shes still fixed into a contract, only 9 months into a 2 year contract

i assume theres some sort of get out clause for them to put it up even tho its now going to be more than agreed

I believe they have started making their contracts allow them to increase the price up to 2 or 3%.

I think you will get satisfaction if you were to follow their online complaints procedure http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref(User):str(Mobile),CASE=13668 and tell them that you do not agree with this price rise. Tell them they agree that your fee was £xx per month for each of the 24 months, not that it would increse. Tell them that you feel the contract is therefor missold, and tell them that if they will not cancel this rise, you want to escalate the complaint to Ombudsman Services: Communications

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)
