Hi all,

Can anyone help with this one?

I had an old Ass card which I squared up in January 2003.

I have contacted Citi, Opus, Citi, Opus, Citi, Opus.... you get my drift yeah...

I am sure there were penalty charges on the account. How do I get the information back that far????

If it is a SAR... who and where do I address it????

Do I include any case law to force them to provide the information???

Thanks in advance

Vaz.

Hi Vaz,

You will find a template for Subject Access Request in the Library section of this website - (top left hand corner of screen/ written in green). Amend that to your requirements and send to Citi at their London Address as follows;

Citifinancial (Europe) Plc

Citigroup Centre

33 Canada Square

Canary Wharf

London

E14 5LB

Send it Special or Recorded Delivery and remember to include the account number.

Personally, I find it easier to keep a spreadsheet on the action taken on each of the banks I am suing as the timescales can soon come around. Keep hard copies of all documents/ letters sent not just on USB stick.

They have 40 working days to respond from date received and I follow mine by putting reminder dates in the calendar of my email box.

Don't be fobbed off by these people - I have already won one claim last year with Citi albeit, I had to send the bailiffs in, I got my money in the end. I also have just sent the bailiffs in on my latest claim with Citi so keep at them.

Post info here and I will follow your thread. Feel free to follow mine as well because it might be useful for you.

No probs Vaz.

I have many strings to my bow. I have just returned from the hospital after playing Midwife (not professionally of course) at the birth of my first Grandson. So proud, but tired.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Shelley,

Sent Citi letter R/D on the 20 August. Royal Maul Track and Trace saying it is still in their delivery system.

Is this normal?

I recently sent Shabbey the same and after 15 days it was deemed lost. Then 10 days later they cash the cheque but no proof of delivery on Royal Mail website.

Any ideas?

Phone call maybe?

Thanks for your help

Vaz

Hi Vaz,

When you get the message that Royal Mail are saying the item is still being processed through their delivery system, this tends to be normal. What happens when mail is sent to an large organisation they will probably receive many R/D items and they will probably be signed for all together and therefore a signature for your item will not be available.

I would follow the route that if the same message shows after 15 days, put in a claim as lost.

I know it is more expensive, but I send things by S/D and add the cost to my spreadsheet/claim. It guarantees delivery before 1pm, you get a signature, but I respect it's not for everyone.

I believe that is what RM Customer Services would advise
