I had something with Amazon where I hadn't realised they had been charging for Amazon Prime from 2004 to 2012 at $71 a year.

I knew I had amazon uk but the other one is from when I had an American Boyfriend.

I looked and the card they charged was expired in 2007,

but they INSIST that is the card that is charged and used every time.

For nearly ten years and thats what they refunded to.

It hasn't shown up in my account, my mum's account or anything.

They refunded only one year

Amazon charged me around six hundred dollars to a card which was expired. Amazon have my non expired cards listed too. I think they have been taking from those without my knowledge. They refunded only one payment of seventy dollars

Sorry how could they have taken money without your knowledge dont you check your statements? If I understand you correctly you have been charged for a service for 10years and you have only just noticed it? This dosnt make sense to me could you clarify if this is what has happened.

If I have been of any help, please click on my star and let me know, thank you.

I registered for the service in 2004.

Used it till about 2007.

I didn't pick up on charges as my aunt asks me to order books from amazon.com.

I don't really remember registering for the service.

Only I had an email this year to say my card had expired and I need to update my prime.

Checked my old email and I had the same thing there for a couple of years.

I figured it partly my fault but it was frustrating to me that even the refund of one year went to an expired card and who knows where that is.

As I don't recognise this old card.

The only time I could have used it is when I had a boyfriend in the states even then I wouldn't sign up. At least not now anyway. On amazon they had the expired card still listed up until a month ago.

I imagine that if the card was with the same provider and the same account then your card provider would likely have just allowed it to be taken from the account (despite it being an expired card). Check your statements around the time the old card expired and see if that is what has happened.

I can see you wouldnt have noticed the charges on your Amazon Prime account as you wernt using it,

but I cant see how you hadnt noticed them for so long on your bank account,

most people have an idea of what their balance should be and would notice if it was out for so long.

I assume your cards, both old and new are connected to your bank account?

so if you had had a refund it would show on the bank account,

if you have a card on either a bank account ot credit card when the card expires the account dosnt its just a new card number but it would still be connected to the account.

If I have been of any help, please click on my star and let me know, thank you.

I didn't have the same account

I had my main account since 2008.

The refund isn't in my new account - its not connected

if they have taken money off an old card it will mean bank charges for me as it is a closed account.

It hasn't gone into my account.

I would have notice that my balance had gone down but not why.

I had pdst didn't analyse my account every week.

Have been unwell.

So I would have thought amazon is ligitimate.

They arnt connected at all

had my account now since 8

any other account has been closed.

It hasn't come to me.

Not talking about just the card expiring.

I have no idea what card this would be.

If its for my old halifax account whenever I ask halifax to send me statements of my old account they send details of my new one.

Is your old bank chasing you for money? You say that if the money had been taken off an old card you would incur charges on that account, but if the bank are not asking you for any money are you sure that it was actually deducted?

Was your old account that you have closed, and your new current account both with the Halifax? When you say you closed your account and opened a new one, was this because of a change of name or did you just change from one type of account to another?

If you were with the same bank but just changed your type of account then I would have thought that they would have been linked and any continuous DD payments would have been carried over.

Although your card had expired it dosnt mean that the account connected to it is no longer active, and if its a credit card that expires than the new one just replaces it but the account number is the same.

If you say you have been given a refund but you dont know hwere it has gone you must have some documentation from them saying where it had been paid to.

To be fair you say you dont remember signing up for this service but you could have, so I am still not sure what it is you are looking for.

Sorry

i'm looking for at least the payment they promised back and to know where it has been taken from / put back to. They say it was taken from a card expired 2007, and they can't explain where or why. I like to know what is going on with my account. I will try SAR halifax
