Just been to see Financial Advisor (aye dont worry it was one recommended by Marting Money savers website) re mortgage.

Anyway, showed them my statements from my current mortgage GE Money. Now every month (since apr) I get a letter saying my account is £1.58 in arrears and they will take it with my next direct debit.

I wrote to them and asked them what is was all about, and can they give me a settlement figure for these arrears and I will pay them off in one go etc etc.

Now they didnt reply to those questions but did say we will take it with your next monthly DD and no registering of this will happen with CRA. But it keeps happening every month!!!

I thought nothing of it, but the FA guys said that is it concerning as when my company wrote them for a reference, its going to show that I have arrears.

Has anyone heard of this before?

I have written to them again demanding an explanation but so far nothing and time is running out as I need to push ahead with my app.

yes ive got my credit report and that (in relation to this) is fine. But its the fact the every month on my statement is showing arrears and the FA said that it already works against you that I am using a subprime lender without having arrears with them albeit £1.58.

I was just wondering if this is some sort of ploy?
