Hi guys, this is really doing my head in.

I just bought a replacement battery for my laptop as the other one was knackered. However, even though the battery charges and works fine, I keep getting a pop-up message every few seconds that says:-

Easy Display Manager - Battery Warning.

Battery Life Time in current state is no longer.

Because you may lose your data during using, please replace to new battery. (honest goods)

Tip> Battery Pack is Consumable device.

This pack is not working correctly or lifetime is no longer,

please use to replace to new battery(honest goods).

It doesn't even seem like proper English, but that is exactly what it says.

It's really winding me up now because I have to click 'OK' every 5 seconds or so, so I can't concentrate on anything. Surely there has to be a way to stop this happening.

Heeeeeeeeelllllllp!!!!!!:-x

So I'm guessing this is not an authentic samsung battery. Other than the warning, how good is the battery life?

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

I bought it off ebay. The lifespan is pretty good (over 6 hours). I have also Googled the problem, and it seems quite common with Samsungs. It is so annoying though. I like to play games in full screen mode, but it keeps switching to small mode when the warning comes up, and the game gets minimized to the tool bar. I am using tha laptop without a battery for now, until I figure out how to stop this annoying message popping up.

It will be a running process... Try clicking start and typing "msconfig" and see if it is in the services or startup and take the tick out?

  • 1 month later...

I gave up in the end. I just couldn't get rid of the message, so I uninstalled the Easy Display Manager with Revo Uninstaller Pro.

The problem has now gone, but I don't know yet if the Samsung Easy Display Manager was important to my system or not.

I guess only time will tell.:|

It's samsung's program for power management and changing the brightness of your screen. Windows manages the power OK on laptops so thats not a problem. Can you still change the brightness of the screen OK? If not is that a problem? :p

as DX says it's just bloatware. When manufacturers release their laptops they want it to look asthetically pleasing and greater than it's rivals. They do this by having pretty demanding but good looking programs running. This obviously drains resources and lowers performance of other tasks that you run. I am a big fan of having a nice clean system with drivers only.

I can't see any difference without the program. I have never needed to adjust the brightness thankfully.
