My daughter is a single parent and on benefits. She went overdrawn by £10 and they charged £30 for the privilege. She wrote to the Nationwide and told them they had no right to help themselves to her benefit money as it is protected by the Government and she wanted her charges back. They have written back asking her to fill in a means test form before a decision can be made as to whether they will refund the charges. Thieving rat bags. Any helpful comments welcome

I think only Hardship cases are actually getting charges refunded. So yes, they are probably within their rights to ask her for an I&E form.
