Went to JC for my usual signing and I got asked to give details of my landlord? Theyve never asked this question before. I also got asked how much I paid for my rent but with no calculation and I got asked about my qualifications.

I also got told my 12 months is coming up in September and Im will be put forward for the Work Programme. I asked if the fact Ive been being trained by the CAB for the last 6 months and hope to do voluntary work with them full time and they said makes no difference you will be put on the Work Programme. I think the CAB is one of the sub contractors with the job centre. I would prefer to work for the CAB than work for whatever sweatshop the JC has lined up for me.

How can I avoid this work Programme. Does anyone know anything about it?

You can't avoid the work programme I'm afraid whilst you remain on benefits. You can certainly request a preference for a particular provider but no guarantee that you will get them :( I have seen a lot of information about work programme but I will be honest and admit that I haven't taken much notice of it as I don't deal with the referrals to the programme myself but I will have to read up on it.

unfortunately information on what this scheme entails is impossible to come by without seeing one of the advisers associated with it,much of what has been published refers only to the method of how the private companies are paid.

from what i understand the scheme lasts for up to two years and there is a period of so called work activity,in essence all that can be realistically expected is its content will be similar to the former new deal using the same companies its been described as the same old.

I found this useful website about PRIMES and sub contractors...http://www.thirdsector.co.uk/news/rss/article/1047580/Prime-contractors-Work-Programme-will-subcontract-voluntary-organisations

One of the voluntary organisations I am volunteering at is the CAB, they are sub contractors.

I bet Atos is one of the Pimes

Just an idea:

As for asking who landlord is, there was a recent case of fraudster claiming their partner was their landlord when in fact living together. Perhaps it is a question they will be asking everyone from now on as standard as they also plan to do un announced visits to single parent households apparantly.

So might not be directed at you but asked of us all soon xx

Yes watching....I thought that might be the case...well they can come on down!

Seriously though I appreciate this is might now be standard practice to ask everyone.
