Bought two large Pizzas from Pizza Hut in Edinburgh, buy 1 get 1 free. After returning home to eat them found there's was a pitiful amount of toppings on both, now I know things are hard but this was a total nonsence, one was a half Margarita, half meat feast there was so little of anything you could not tell the difference.

I went back to the shop to complain, manager (who made the pizzas) tells me they have been told by head office that for a number of years, they have been putting too many toppings on their pizzas and have cut back on the amounts given.

Thinking the manager was talking about the shop they worked in, I told them I've been in about every Pizza Hut in Edinburgh so have a good idea what an average pizza should have regarding toppings the Pizzas I was given were shocking, I asked when this new 'less toppings' policy came into force and was told about two weeks ago.

Asked for Head Offices address and was given a number to call for customer care, I'll be phoning tomorrow.

I honestly think the Manager was talking utter garbage and I for one will never be back.

i would have thought the manager would have tried to be nice and at least given you an extra pizza for free.

i seen the state of some of there floors and how much they can waste...at least going by my local one.

Make your own, a darned site cheaper. 2 x 10" basic pizzas = £1 from Asda & can be frozen.

I make up extra tomato sauce by adding a little hot water to tomato puree adding garlic, cayenne & a little paprika. The topping can be anything you've got in the fridge... I've even used chopped pilchards. Smother in grated cheese and stick in the oven for 10/15 mins on high.

Not a lot of mention of prices here. Pizza has one of the biggest, if not the biggest profit margin of any comodity on sale today. My son fixed himself and the wife up with one via the red button on the telly, when he pressed the last button and it came up £56 he cancelled. You could get a meal at the Duke of Cornwall for that, what a rip off.

And for info, a 12" base cost 3p to produce.

I dont know if I'm the only one who feels like this, but food never tastes the same if you have to cook it yourself :)

Either that or I'm just plain lazy and a fool

It was £14.99 for the Pizzas, cerberusalert I'm not too keen on making my own I do like Pizza Hut pizzas, but two bits of dough with a lick of cheese just won't do it anymore.

As the shadow says looks like Dominoes have done the same, it's the same with everything shirinking Milky Ways and Mars Bar's, I remeber when you needed two folk to carry a Wagon Wheel :-)

Just read this.

When I was on a business course in 2000,we had people coming in from Banks,Health and Safety,Tax and accountants, giving a 30 minute talk to prospective new starters.

I remember one accountant who told us that he had opened 2 Pizza shops in Wigan town centre.

He said it was not something he would have ever thought of,but whilst doing the accounts for another established Pizza outlet,he was so shocked at just how much profits were to be made,he decided it was too good an opportunity to pass up.

Kebab shops are the same-I was told by a worker that the big chunk of meat that sits on the spiv can be made for a few pounds-and as everyone knows pitta bread is not exp when buying in packs of 30.

Going back to Pizza's,I read an article not long ago too which I have just found;

Have to admit,I never tried making a Pizza yet.

My favourite is a simple dish, which is made from mashed potato and adding grated cheese, onions, and tomato's on top, with sprinkling of herbs.

In fact I made on last night and is ready for 25 minutes in the halogen cooker to brown.

Amazingly it has cost around £1,42 having got the ingredients reduced at Tesco yesterday just before they closed.

400g Taw valley mature cheese...60p

2kg Albert Bartlet Rooster Potato 25p

pack of Tesco value Onions 19p

Tesco mixed herbs 20p

Cherry vine tomato's 18p

Here is what its looking like ready to go in Halogen cooker.......

It is to be expected really; thats the only thing they can cut down on; already expensive, so cant put prices up?

rents, rates going up, vat, etc. wages already low, sales down, so profits being squezzed - somethings go to give!
