i just wanted some advice really having just signed up to UW and still been within the cooling off period, i am having such a bad feeling about this company and have only read a small chunk of the posts on here and over on MSE theres a thread on there that has 500 pages of a very heated discussion and as on here the only positive responses seem to be from reps selling the product,Thankfully i didnt sign up for the mobile deal cos that is a right con cos saying its unlimited mins and texts when its not is surely breaking laws on mis selling a product as its not unlimited and could someone explain the fair useage policy as am not sure what that means.

So what to do now as it would seem from what ive seen that what little they claim to be saving us will be spent on their fees so whats the point cos the woman whom i know fairly well from my class came to do the sales pitch and it all sounded very impressive but bottom line was it was never made very clear how much i would save and how in relation to the fees this would work out so am unsure what to do now to cancel or not ,incidentally i wasnt told there was a ten pounds cancellation fee either hmmmm was told it was easy to cancel it but not this bit any advice from customers who are either with them or have been with them would be appreciated but dont really need the sales pitch from ppl working for them no offence like but u do have vested interest in singing their prasies xxxkia

If you have concerns now, better to cancel whilst in time. Seems a lot of problems people have is promised dd will cover the bills, to find a huge bill arrives at the end of they year. When try to take this issue up, it seems from reading on these forums that customers have a stressful time.

If you have a gut fealing, act on it before its too later and follow cancellation process to a tea or they you will be scuppered that way also.

RECORD YOU CALLS TO THEM CANCELLING AND FOLLOW UP WITH LETTER IF ADVISED IN TERMS AND CONDITIONS, SENT RECORDED.

VERY IMPORTANT TO RECORD CALL INFORMING THEM YOU WISH TO CANCEL xx

Kia, if you have serious doubts then don't do it, simple! I am a distributor with UW and have always found them to be excellent (that is from a customer point of view and not because I am a distributor). I have only ever had 2 customers who weren't happy with the way a problem was resolved, unfortunately it happens.

You should have been advised of the cancellation fee but come on, £10 to get out of the contract as opposed to how ever many months you may still have to run which is what the others do.

I agree there are a lot of posts relating to UW but if you take away the many, many individual arguments, comments aimed at distributors etc etc I think you will find that actual genuine posts relating to a topic would reduce that 500 pages to less than half.

At the end of the day, the decision is yours. UW are no worse than any other company out there, but you can always go elsewhere and sign up for a 12 or 18 month contract with someone else.

I await the "lovely comments" which I will no doubt receive.

If you cant remember as a rep the fair usage policy and quote 99% happy with it, hahahhahahahahahaha:madgrin:

Same sort of sales speak to get a person signed up in other areas I would suspect, I know I have personally experienced it, till you ask for accurate details and find certain statements are shall we say a little misleading. Cheaper than this cheaper than that, BUT NOT when in writing:shock:

Of course surely not all reps are like this?:-)

Suprised they dont try to flog double glazing at the same time, hahahahahhaha

Kia, if you can look online and compare.

The cheapest products tend to be online paperless accounts and some are fixed tarrifs for a year. I use one of the big six and havnt found cheaper yet. These can be much cheaper than some providers standard rates and new products come out so you could ring and say with confidence like I did, you want the cheapest of the cheapest and have heard online saves more.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on :)

Off topic posts removed-please be a bit more thoughtful.

Shining light-we do appear to have seen many complaints about UW.

It is acknowledged that you are a distributor, and as such will naturally have a vested interest,It would be nice for you to read all positives of course, but we dont see that day coming any time soon.

Please remember that this is a consumer site, and not a platform for distributors.
