Hi all

Here is the problem

A mate of mine passed away Jan 4 2009

His wife returned to her home country shortly afterwards, but asked me to look after the car,

So form the last 2 years it has been parked on my drive,

I have no paperwork, but managed to sorn the car last year, 3 months after the tax has run out, Swansea were no help but local DVLA sorted the prob,

This time they will not help me as I am not the registered keeper,

so they will probaly be sending out the fine to his old address,

They will not accept my word that he has passed away,

I want to get rid of the car, but as I do not have a V5 can not do so.

I was even told by the guy in swansea to leave it on the road, then it would not be my problem.

I thought about sending in a form for lost V5 to say that I'm the new owner, but that would not be true,

Any Ideas what to do.

I don't want to end up with loads of Penetly charges,

Thanks

Yes.

DVLA will write to the current RK (in this case presumably the owner) and if they get no response after 28 days (it would be interesting if they did!!) they will issue a V% in your name.
