I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice please, my husband had a hire purchase agreement with welcome finance, which is now all paid up,the loan was arranged for him by guaranteed car finance, and was signed for in a welcome finance office it did have ppi insurance added and also shortfall insurance, he wrote recently to welcome requesting the ppi is repaid as it was missold, (he was told he had to have both to get the loan) they have written back and have told him that because it was arranged via a broker we have to write to them as it was nothing to do with welcome, can anyone advise if this is the case, and where i should go from here, many thanks

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Shopkeeper,

As Welcome were collecting our monthly repayments, they are liable for any mis-sold claim. They just fobbing you off in the hope that you will give up.

I suggest you make a spreadsheet with each PPI charge and date of each charge, calculations for interest and send to Welcome stating you wish them to investigate in full and if they do not come forth with a positive response, you shall forward the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

If you need any help with the calculations, just shout and I will be happy to help.

  • 1 month later...

Have just recieved another reply from welcome , its only take a month, to tell me there are no points raised in my letter asking them to take another look at the claim, so therefore they have investigated the complaint fully and we need to complain to the broker, as its nothing to do with welcome... so i think its off to the fos we go in the new year... any further thoughts anyone.... many thanks

If they have implied this is their final response, then go directly to the FOS. Dont waste any time with the broker.

You could send a copy of your FOS complaint to Welcome, "Just to keep them advised" :)
