  1. There's a bit of an on going thread about this. I responded to a poster about an unexpected letter from Welcome Finance about outstanding PPI. I've searched, firstly here, and Google about these refund letters and not found much about them. If you have had or have just received one then please post any success/not successful outcomes to this thread. Thanks.
  2. What a result !!!!! Refund is in my account, within the two weeks I received the letter...
  3. No, this refund was totally out of the Blue, I was not expecting to hear from Welcome again after my claim from another account ( the one you linked ).
  4. No sorry it's not for breakdown cover, I mentioned breakdown as in a breakdown of amounts ( £ ) I.e. PPI, interest, premiums etc.
  5. No. This one is from an earlier car loan I took out with them, from 2003. This refund is for the 2003 account which is closed.
  6. Thanks Derbypub. My situation is different to yours. It looks ( from your 1st post ) that my letter is similar to yours. I have only, last few days, sent my return letter off so I am still waiting. I did ring them up on the day I received the letter and the bloke at welcome said I was due monies that was stated on the breakdown sheet. Sorry to hear you were not due any loot back. If it's ok I will let know if I get a result. At least if anyone that receives a refund letter off welcome saying they are due a refund then they can add to this thread.
  7. I was replying to the OP if they received their refund.. why do I need to start my own thread ? If the OP wants to see a copy of my letter then they can. Btw, the letter has Welcomes heading and address on it.
  8. Mmm... Just been on the Fos website and it says that if PPI has already been paid out then the undisclosed commission would have been paid out, this was over several years ago now so I have no records. The letter I got today has a breakdown of calculations and mentions no commission payments just PPI and interest. I hope the OP replies as I would like to know if they got their refund.

Did you get it ? I have received one of these letters today offering a refund. I was surprised as I think they already knocked off the PPI from my original claim from about 8 years ago.

  11. Well I have heard nothing from the council with regards to my payment plan that I submitted last week. My case was put on a 7 day hold which ends tomorrow ( Friday ) I rang them up just now to find out how it was getting along. The lady told me that they are still looking into it and usually takes around 2 weeks for some kind of decision to be made. I explained my case was on hold for 7 days and what would happen after that with regards to the bailiffs turning up and she couldn't give me an answer. I'm now a bit worried what will happen after tomorrow. Will Jacobs come knocking again ? Or will the council keep it on hold until they have made their decision. Thanks.
  12. The letter was posted before my daughter went downstairs at 6.30 this morning with the £110 on it. I'm in the council office Monday afternoon to submit my other expenditure form so I will query it then.
  13. The heats off for 7 days, any action has been put on hold. The council recovery dept. Sent me a means form to fill in for which I've done and handed back in as there is some payments I've missed for this tax year. I did all my deductions and offered them a 10% monthly payment & on Monday I will hand in a means form for Jacobs @ 20%, so 30% of my net income. This is around £84.50 a month in total. So I will have to wait and see. I will update as and when.
  14. I forgot to add I have offered £25 (that I've borrowed ) to Jacobs today. But I've suggested this through the council recovery dept. She will be in contact with them now I would imagine.
  15. I did offer £62 a month from 1st September but they knocked it back. I've spoken with the council recoveries dept. And they are going to have a word with Jacobs, however the situation has changed slightly so it looks like the monthly payment that I offered will have to come down. This is all still ongoing at the moment so I will post back when I get a result. When I speak to Jacobs later I will see if they have added that £110 on, BTW no goods have been levied.
  16. Well that didn't go well. I rang their office and spoke to someone about setting up a payment plan, I explained the situation and he was unhelpful and they said i have to contact their agent. I rang the agent and basically talked to me as though I was a piece of s***. I explained that I wanted to set up a payment plan, I even put out that I would pay above £50 a month and they refused... They keep saying that I've received 3 letters and have had plenty of warning but that is not the case. I have only received a letter yesterday and now one today with £110 added on. Now what? Where do I go from here...
  17. Hello. I've just been on the .Gov site regarding bailiffs and it says something about some bailiffs can be exempt from being certified or to that effect. Anyway I've had a search and can't find any info on what reason a bailiff would be exempt. The reason I'm looking for this is I can't find the agents name on the bailiffs register. Could this agent be exempt ? Also when they came to the door they asked if it was OK to record with their camera, which I thought unusual as I would imagine they would of liked filming everything with or without your permission anyway. Just thought I'd mention it.. As a note there was on!y One bailiff, I know it reads as if it was Two. Thanks. http://www.civea.co.uk/news/certificated-bailiffs-online-register/ What the hell is this all about!!
  18. OK I will have to sort this out tomorrow as I'm about to set off for work I will post tomorrow for an update. In the meantime if anyone has any pointers as to what to say or what I should be weary about when they give me the talk , would be much appreciated. Thanks.
  19. I have no assets in the house other than clothes, beds and the settee. Everything else belongs to my daughter. I/we have sold most things with value over the last several months to cover previous expense, rent, outstanding gas/water bills etc. The amount owed to Jacobs is just under £600, no way I can pay that amount in full. They will have to settle for a payment plan. This can't be refused can it?
  20. Ah I see. Thanks. I've quickly glanced at some of the stickies at the top of the forum with regards to payment. It seems that I have to deal with Jacobs directly for a payment plan, I obviously need to fill in some kind of means form to fill in my income/ expenditure etc. So what's the best way of doing this, email, phone or letter? I see that payment plans are for 3/6 months. This will be a struggle. Can these plans be extended? Also when will a payment plan start. I have absolutely no money for anyone for at least 4 weeks.!!
  21. What do you mean by 'opposition from the individual enforcement agent named on the notice ? I'm confused, I take it that any payments should be made to Jacobs and as it's their agent why would there be any opposition.? Sorry if I'm not reading this right.. As
  22. Yes I know about forced entry I was wanting to know was was meant by non prescribed notice. Thanks. I don't think I will get any reduction then.
