Hi there,

I was wondering if you could help. I had a slight bump in the side of my Peugeot 107 and advised my insurance but because the excess was going to be £400 I decided that I could fix the panel myself!

However in the meantime I was driving down the motorway where I got all sorts of warning light's so I stopped called the rac and then they towed me to a garage.

Initially we thought the fan belt and water pump had gone but the garage called me today and it has complete engine failure at a cost of £5400.

The car is only 56 reg so I'm not sure how the engine has gone so soon can anyone advise me if this could of happened due to the accident (i was hit in the front side panal) so therefore can I claim on my insurance or if this could be a tech fault with the peugeot's and maybe I can write a letter of complaint??

Thanks In Advance

Unless it was caved in signifitantly (which would of dameaged the front wheel ect) then I can't see how it would relate to an engine failure. Seems like coincidence to me. You say the car is a 56 reg which makes it under 4 years old but i'm not up to date with Peugeot warranties so not sure if you are covered under that. How many miles has it done? Seems odd for a car of that age to suffer an engine failure.... mind you it is French!
