Not tending to hang out in the Bear Garden much these days, thanks to some insomnia I've just seen this news.

I'm so sad to see that Bob is no longer with us - he was a real gent and a great asset to CAG, helping sooo many people. My sincere condolences to his family, RIP Bob.

(BTW, I have the same song listed in my funeral instructions for folks to walk out to!)

How sad to find this thread. I'm always looking for inspiration on threads, Rooster always provided it. May you rest in peace young man and may your family know that you were loved and respected by many he never met, such is the world of cyber friends.

Couldn't put it any better than that - well said, my friend.

Cheers

Michael

We come onto earth as equals, and from my experience that is how it should be.

Bob, you stood above us.

Bob, you stood beside us.

Bob, you are still here standing beside us.

We stand beside you, AS YOU ARE ALWAYS THERE..

Take care big man, for you always stood beside us CAGGERS, and all my love to you, your family and friends and those people you helped, and everyone who comes to CAG.

You are a beam of brilliance and your torch shines brightly!

My regret is I never got to say that personally to you, thats why its taken a while to properly say what I should, but you were always in my thoughts.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've only just seen this and am deeply saddened.

All I can add is what so many have already said.

It seems only a few months ago that we had a joke about contributions to the biccy tin, office mugs and the washing up liquid.

So sorry he's gone - such a loss to so many people.

May he be giving the angels as good a laugh up there as he did for us here.

Thank you Rooster - for allowing me to share that little bit of my life with yours.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, there, phoenix11 - it's clear now that in the last few days/weeks of Bob's life, he was still here joking and making people's lives a little better and helping a lot more while going through all of this in private. That's the true spirit of CAG. Bob's message will stay with me forever and I intend to carry on his banter as a testiment to the man that was RoosterUK :(

I just thought I would add my name to the already long list of condolences. Rooster was a great help when I became a site helper and later a moderator on this site and gave me a lot of personal support via private messages both in my claims against my bank and also other personal issues I was going through at the time. I echo BF's comment that although I knew Rooster through here, I had not met him in person, nevertheless he had a large impact on me.

Rest In Peace Rooster

Steve, you joined at the same time as Bob -and I remember like yesterday the good times we all had on the team.Nice to see you drop in after such a long absence-no need for me to tell you-Bob would be asking what you was doing for so long. You will remember that we tried to get him on the camping meet in Gloucester, but he said he couldnt make it.Only later did we get told that he wanted to hold the fort here in a few team members absence.........A CAGGER 100%.:)
