Well that's brilliant and I hope it continues to have effect. I don't see the need to disagree I'm just asking that all avenues be pursued at least as actively or there may (in my opinion) be people who read through here and feel that they might not have the same outcome and not know what to do.

 

I didn't mean to particularly illicit sympathy for Boots, I do sympathise that theft is a burden to business and should be prevented. But it should not be at the expense of the innocent or unintended. Currently it is.

 

Whilst these companies (RLP etc) have been retained by retailers to prevent this, and this should be raised with them it is the companies practices that also need to be limited or they will just continue in other guises or adapt to counter this as it is revenue earning. Public shame will affect them, I hope it stops them but incase it doesn't..

 

Perhaps the site can build up a list of cases detailing the methods and actions taken, the fact that they seem to operate with scant regard for any law or legislation that doesn't suit them and present this for everyone to send to their local MP, local news paper etc that it may raise the public awareness?

I don't know the best way to do all this but TS are looking at one issue I am sure we can find others to pursue.

It can't be right that someone is not charged, is not found guilty yet is persecuted or threatened. The recent threat to one poster here of possible black listing is no different to that of the case raised in the construction industry just recently in the news.

 

I do feel I have made my point therefore I will not argue it further in any case as I am happy with what has been posted in the round and have no disagreement with the actions and help afforded in this site or any of it's posters nor do i wish otherwise.

As well as RLP I have questions for the ICO such as why on earth did they licence this firm if they knew they would behave like this & if they didn't know why not.

 

Having given them carte blanche to poke into our lives why aren't they monitoring their activity

No. There has been no court case, or police caution so nothing held by the Police or CRB.
